TERMS & CONDITIONS
Enrollment fee: Before the enrollment process can begin, the customer must submit payment in the amount of $325 via check or money order to Ontario Christian School (please write online in the memo of the check) or via Paypal. Up to 10 days after enrollment, the student can drop the course with a refund of the purchase price minus $50 enrollment fee. After this 10 day period, the student will no longer receive a refund for the course, unless the content or platform of the course makes completion impossible.Extensions: After the allotted 120 calendar days, the student may request an extension of one week at a time. Each one week extension will cost the student $30. This amount can be prepaid, or the final amount can be paid when the course is complete and before the student will receive any credit from OCO. Support: For academic support, our online support teachers can be contacted via the messaging system within your classroom. The teacher will also provide you with their office hours and an email address. The student can also set up an appointment time within business hours (6:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. Pacific Time). Popup blocking: To view all content, and to use the "Talk to a Teacher" feature, please add advancedacademics.com to your pop-up blocker's allow list. Most browsers and even some antivirus software contain popup blocking features. You should allow this site in all of the security applications. Maintenance Schedule: Wednesday from 11 PM until 2 AM on Thursday, Central Time. The online course system will not be available to students or administrators during this period. Please plan accordingly. Transfer credit: Ontario Christian Online (OCO) will provide official transcripts in the form of transfer credit to no more than two institutions. There is no cost for these two copies. Additional copies are $10 each. Unofficial transcripts are also available upon request. It is the responsibility of the student and/or parent to request these transcripts and it is understood that an email from the student or parent’s registered email address, provided upon enrollment, constitutes a signed request. Any other parties or addresses will be considered unauthorized and will require a physical signature from the parent and/or student before that information can be released. Proctoring: It is a requirement for the student to take at least two assessments (usually the midterm exam and the final exam) in an environment proctored by a school official. This individual may be directly associated with OCO, or may represent OCO as an independent contractor. Scheduling the proctored tests must be done at least five days before the desired exam date (more lead time may be necessary in some circumstances including holidays), and is the responsibility of the parent and/or student. The student may not have any materials with them at the time of any exam, unless previous arrangements have been made with the administration of OCO. The student may continue to work ahead while they wait to take their scheduled midterm exam. Testing: It is strongly suggested that a student not use a laptop via wireless internet to take tests and exams. A break in wireless access for even a few seconds can result in the test being locked out. Once a student has begun a test or quiz, he or she must finish the test and submit it for a grade before navigating elsewhere within the system. This is a safeguard against cheating. This safeguard also prohibits the use of the browser’s navigation buttons (such as Back, Forward, Refresh, etc.). The student should only use the navigation links and/or buttons from within the course page. Failure to comply with this regulation can result in the locking of the assessment. While this assessment can be reset by a teacher and/or administrator, this type of behavior is considered suspicious and such a request may be denied.
